St. Joseph the
Worker Bulletin |
Third Sunday of Easter
After the Holy Spirit descends upon the apostles, Peter preaches with great enthusiasm to both Jews and Christians. He recalls for them in vivid terms the miracles and wonders that Jesus performed.
Reminder
– Please Lock Your Car
Someone has been breaking into our cars during the Sunday Masses. A number of
weeks ago someone stole things out of two cars. Another Sunday a window was
smashed during the 10AM Mass. Also there has been a smashed window over at St.
Frances Cabrini. Please lock your cars and make sure there is nothing visible
in the car that could cause someone to break the window and try to steal
something.
Bake Sale Table
Can you donate your time to our Carnival Bake Sale Table or donate some baked goodies for the Carnival Bake Sale April 29 to May 3? Our carnival hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6-10pm, Friday 6-11pm and Saturday 2-11pm. Please try to make something or donate an hour of your time.
Carnival Wrist Bands & 50/50 Raffle
Pre-Sale Wrist Band tickets are available after our Masses and at the rectory. Wrist Band tickets are $10 each if you buy them now. Once the carnival begins, the wrist band tickets will be $13. So you save $3.
We are also selling our famous 50/50 tickets. Prizes will be each night of the carnival with the grand prize the last night of carnival – May 3rd – and the winner could be you! Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10.
Faith-Raiser CDs
Looking for
something worthwhile to listen to while in the car or at home? In the back of
the Church, there is a wooden display stand that contains educational and
inspirational Catholic CDs by our Faith’s best speakers. Choose one or more CDs
and take them home with you - they’re yours to keep! Each CD is about 45-60
minutes long. A suggested donation of $3.00 per CD helps us buy new titles when
we run low.
New Beginning
Is an Annulment possible for me?
For many people, the process of annulment in a marriage is very mysterious, often accompanied by considerable misinformation. In order to allay fears as well as to dispel any misconceptions, St. Joseph the Worker will sponsor an Annulment Information Evening on May 8.
This open session will consist of an explanation of the annulment process by a Tribunal Judge with a Q & A period following. For details, please contact St. Joseph the Worker Rectory at 215-945-4487.

Catholic
Charities
There is no such thing as a small gift to the Catholic Charities Appeal. Every
contribution to the Appeal is greatly appreciated and is an affirmation of the
programs that concretely express the belief in the inherent value of every human
life and the dignity of every individual. As Pope Benedict XVI noted in his
encyclical God is Love, “The Church is God’s family in the world. In this
family no one ought to go without the necessities of life.”
Please give generously to the 2008 Catholic Charities Appeal! Almost 250,000 people annually in the five counties of the Archdiocese are served by programs supported by the Appeal. If you would like to make a contribution or for more information please call 215-587-3651 or visit www.catholiccharitiesappeal.org.
